John Robert Clark, Jr Obituary

Moscow, Ohio – John Robert Clark Jr., age 83, passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, on April 25th at the VA Medical Center in Cincinnati, Ohio.

John is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Jenny (Trees) Clark; two sons, Austin (Crystal) Clark and John R. Clark III; two daughters, Katie (Dareld) Osborne and Johanna (Jeremy) Hill; seven grandchildren, Hannah and Chloe Hill, Cameran and Caitlyn Osborne, Mnium Clark-Jijon, and Lucas and Adaline Clark; two sisters, Barbara Burkley and Diane (Bill Mahlbacker) McDaniel; one brother, Michael (Patricia) Clark; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, John R. Clark Sr. and Lavinia (Penn) Hutcherson.

John was born in Frankfort, Kentucky on December 10, 1941, and grew up in Louisville. After high school, he proudly joined the United States Army, serving from February 1960 to February 1963 as a paratrooper with the 18th Airborne Corps.

In 1968, John enrolled at Eastern Kentucky University, earning a degree in Industrial Arts Education. It was there he met the love of his life, Jenny. They married on August 9, 1969, and in 1973, moved to Moscow, Ohio, where they raised their family. His greatest joy came from his wife and four children.

John built a respected career in construction. He began as a skilled carpenter and later advanced to serve as a construction manager. He concluded his professional life as the Facilities Director at a local golf club where his work ethic, leadership, and friendly nature were all deeply valued.

John was blessed with grandchildren, who affectionately called him "Pop," a nickname given by his son John. Pop and Gran were inseparable, sharing a life that exceeded anything they had imagined, marked by unwavering love for each other and their family.

John was a proud member of the Moscow Masonic Lodge #122 for over 56 years.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at the VA Medical Center for the compassionate care they provided during John's final years and on the night of his passing.
