James Michael Burns,
93, of Bethel, Ohio passed away in his home on Wednesday, November 19, 2025 surrounded by his loved ones. James was born to Peter and Sophia (Martin) Burns on November 29, 1931 in Clay County, KY. James enlisted in the Army at the age of 17 years old where he served in the Korean War. There after he married the love of his life, the late Evayon Maxine (Asberry) Burns. Together they built a wonderful life together. They proceeded to have three children: James Gregory (Corinne) Burns, Kimberley Evayon (Philip) Burton and the late Michael Ray Burns . James is also survived by three grandchildren: Tiffiany Lynn (David) Riddle, Kandra Evayon (Daniel) Dauwe and James Gregory (Tiffany) Burns II. Along with six great grandchildren: Kiana Evayon Dauwe, Landon James Dauwe, Makenzie Lynn Riddle, Nathan David Riddle, Kaileigh Ann Burns, and Jackson James Burns. James is proceeded in death by his three brothers: Seldon "Jack" Burns, Larry Burns, and Billy Burns, his five sisters: Sabra Morehead, Ruby Pucket, Sally Caudill, Edna Hensley, Mary Eversole, and survived by his baby sister Darlene Souder. Also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. James and Evayon became the owners of Burns Towing in 1973, and he retired from General Electric after 25 years. He sponsored many sports teams in Bethel, was a member of the Masonic Lodge, and was honored and named a Kentucky Colonel. Those who knew him know he will be remembered for that special whistle, and being the best dad and Papaw to his kids and grandkids, they were his life. Memorial services for James Michael Burns will be held on Saturday November 22, 2025 at the Bethel Pentecostal Church of God, 2738 Ohio Pike Bethel, OH 45106, from 10:00 Am to 12:00 Pm. Funeral Services will be immediately following the visitation at the church. Arrangements by Charles H McIntyre Funeral Home 323 Union Street Felicity, OH 45120. Burial will be at the Tate Township Cemetery, Bethel, OH. The family would like to thank Hospice of Cincinnati for their love and support.
